Clinical Trials Update: July 18, 2008 (HealthDay)

HealthDay - (HealthDay News) -- Here are the latest clinical trials, courtesyof CenterWatch:

I'm guessing you are looking for the answer . . . Correct? First off, did you know that billions of dollars are spent yearly on this reputed "miracle" diet pill? The manufacturers have produced enough hype to make you believe that Hoodia is the miracle cure for obesity and imperative weight loss. Wouldn't it be great if it was as easy as that to lose weight?

Let's probe past the marketing hype to see if these claims have any merit.

There are all sorts of advertisements on the radio and internet ads indicating many miraculous claims of Hoodia success! I'm bringing up the subject and it's authenticity to be sure my readers don't fall for this scam and waste their hard earned dollars in the process.

Before you get all upset, let me say that not all companies that sell Hoodia are dishonest. Some of these are legal and genuine and are really selling the real Hoodia. Unfortunately, because of the scarcity of federal regulations on nutritional supplements, it is very easy for questionable smaller companies to sell 'blank' pills that don't have any Hoodia in them at all.

Please notice that I'm not saying anything on the subject of whether Hoodia (the real stuff) really does work or not for long-lasting weight loss.

Of course the Hoodia ads make it sound so fantastic . . . with no exercise required, knock down a couple of pills while watching TV and the fat will start melting away. Yea, right! I don't think so. Let's be clear on this one point . . . Quick fixes will NEVER work, and they NEVER will. Remember the great Fen-Fen, the so called easy way to weight loss? If there is ever a miracle pill for weight loss there will always be an adverse side effect somewhere down the road. The body is governed by the laws of nature.

It is really sad how many people are taken in by the Hoodia hoopla and end up blowing $50 or $100 and not seeing any loss of weight that they thought would happen. They were scammed again!

It may surprise you that an extensive percentage of what is designated and sold as Hoodia might not even have any Hoodia at all inside those pills. A lot of what's being sold is fake.

The reason is that ever since the Dietary Supplement and Health Education Act (DSHEA) of 1994, there is no regulation or testing to ensure that what their label claims is actually in the bottle! Even if they did put real Hoodia extract in the capsules, there is no scientific proof at this moment that the small doses that they put in the capsules will actually cause any type of weight loss in people.

The problem is that the supplement industry is NOT federally regulated in the US, and any scammer can put whatever they want in a capsule and market it for enormous profits.

The Bushmen of Southern Africa have use Hoodia for centuries as an appetite suppressant when they went on long hunts or journeys. In its natural state, Hoodia might actually work as a satisfactory appetite suppressant (although that doesn't necessarily mean it will help with permanent weight loss).

It all started a couple of years ago when a leading nighttime network TV show introduced Hoodia as the new and exciting 'miracle weight-loss pill.' The Scammers jumped on board as fast as they could, filling their capsules with any thing they could to pass off to the unsuspecting public. We are always looking for the easy way to the dream body we want, so we bought; hook, line, and sinker to get this "magic pill."

There is no way that the amount of Hoodia being sold online and in the stores worldwide is the same amount that is realistically produced. This is because Hoodia is only grown in Southern Africa in a small geographical area and is a very SLOW growing plant. This clearly means that a very large amount of "so-called Hoodia" is, in fact, bogus! Buyers beware!!

If, by chance, you did get the 'real' Hoodia there is still no proof, scientific or otherwise, that the small doses put in the capsules or pills will, in practice, cause any type of sustainable weight loss.

Trying to curb your appetite is not usually a good thing because you are merely depriving your body of the nutrition it needs to operate properly. Most likely, any weight you did lose would not be an appropriate weight loss. It would be muscle loss, which in turn would make your body slow its metabolism to protect itself. This would ultimately lead to excess fat gain again. Now we are worse off than before . . . l theanine wholesale nutritional powders overall but lighter in the wallet.

Now you have some main problems:

1. You have no way of knowing if the Hoodia that you have is real, short of having it tested yourself.

2. Even though the bigger companies are HONEST and do put the amount of Hoodia that the label says is inside, there is no proof that the small amount in the capsules is enough to actually curb your appetite. Any weight loss you may incur will most likely not be long lasting.

You probably don't want to hear this but the truth is . . . there are no "miracles in a bottle." The only way to be truly healthy, lean, and strong for life, will take some actual real exercise and a nutritious diet . . . a healthy diet that you can live with for life! There are no substitutes, but there will always be plenty of pills or programs that sound good. They are made to do only one thing . . . and that is to take your money.

Are you ready to stop searching for the, so called, "miracle pills" and find the true solution to a leaner, sexier and healthier body for the rest of your life? At this review site you will find the best programs to help you obtain your 'dream body'. You will find PROVEN and SAFE methods of losing your excess weight and how to KEEP IT OFF. No longer will you feel like you are on the "lose the weight, gain the weight merry-go-round!'

Keep It Off
